- 350g lean beef frying steak, visible fat removed, cut into thin strips
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- For the Stir-Fry:

- 4 tbsp brown sauce
- 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 3 tbsp sugar-free orange squash diluted with 400ml water
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- ½ tsp dried red chilli flakes
- 1 crumbled beef stock cube
- 2 onions, thickly sliced
- 2 red peppers, deseeded and sliced
- 200g carrots, julienned
- 150g sugar snap peas, trimmed
- 250g dried medium egg noodles
- Chopped fresh red chilli (optional, for garnish)
